I or my call partners should be relatively
easy to find. You should first, call our office at 503-873-3403 or 503-982-7638.
If the phones have been forwarded properly, you should eventually hear someone from the
Salem Hospital Answering Service pick-up and say they are Dr. Climer's answering
service. You can then explain to them what is going on and they should get in touch
with myself or one of my call partners. If you call us, let the phone ring a long
time, sometimes they are slow to pick-up. If you still get no reply, then call 503-370-5848
or 503-585-7511.
Please be advised that if you are calling on
a weeknight I am on call for myself at all times, except when I am on vacation or out of
town at an educational meeting. From Friday night until Monday morning is the
"call weekend", I am on call about 1 in 4 weekends.
If you are desiring a refill of a controlled
substance during a call weekend, and you get a hold of one of my call partners,
your prescription will most likely not be refilled by them.
It is our practice to avoid filling controlled substance
prescriptions for patients we do not know, by phone, over the weekends. In general,
prescriptions should be filled during regular office hours.
If you are a member of a managed care
plan, and you have a problem I could likely handle by phone, by all means call
me before you go to the emergency room. If you have a life
threatening emergency, call 911 or get to the emergency as best seems fit.
