Movie Reviews
"The dreams of a people"

I love movies. I think it must have been our family's love for movies that stimulated our daughter to head off to Los Angeles and go to film school. My wife and I have often talked about how much fun it would be to review movies, so I decided to start. I believe movies are "mythic" entities. I know that sounds a bit strange, but please bare with me and let me explain this more clearly.

When I talk about something being mythic, I mean a very specific idea. A myth is the dream of a society, people or some subset of the society or people. When we are drawn to a movie as a group, it is because it speaks to us inwardly like a dream. The way the movie speaks to us says very important things about who we are as individuals and as a group. Our collective dreams and experiences create who we are as a people. These dreams drive us to be and act in certain ways. The dream may be completely unconscious in character, but remarkably powerful in directing us. I know this sounds a bit odd, but click here to link to an explanatory page I created.

Below, you will find my list of reviewed movies. It will grow with time. As a physician, you will will find I have a focus toward growth and development. Enjoy the reviews and the movies.
